Laura has finished all of the illustrations for Life of a Bastard Vol. 1; again I am happy with her work and her timely delivery. I spoke to Jennifer Buck about which options we both want to take with our writing aspirations, we both think self-publishing will be the way to go and thus this is the final step for me. Self-publishing takes a lot of work and knows how because you want to avoid the mistakes in reaching the readers you want. What is "Life of a Bastard"? JavierSoto'sjourney into the maze of Foster Care. The task of making a book out of journals and half-written entries was a challenge when events are at least 30 to 35 years in the past. I think you lose credibility by taking journals and trying to update them with hindsight and political correctness. People remember events the way they perceive the world; sometimes we want to dispute memories and create rich narratives that don't offend (modern movies ). Let the voice be of that time and place be heard or read; credit goes tocopy editor Ben for keeping the voice and smoothing out the edges ( he is almost done with Vol. 2 )
PLAN OF ACTION
First, publish "Life of a Bastard Vol.1 " ASAP, of course, I will make sure everything is ready. I have already giving volume one to few people for preview reading, and I am satisfied to move forward. If you are on my Facebook and or Twitter I will promote my book daily; please show some support. I will release it on digital via Kindle or iBooks and also on paperback because I still like to hold a book in my hand. Once that is done, onto to the Spanish Version, and Jennifer Buck also mentioned doing an audiobook, Jennifer has been excellent at advising me with my ideas, and she is also working on her book.
Volume 2 will not take as long as volume 1, but looking for a new cover design.
