Black Comic Book History : Bonus: Superheroes who Protect Africa (Thrilling History #1)
5 Stars: "Black Comic Book History Month" ( Amazon Giveaway )
Michelle Rodriguez once said that "we should create our own heroes instead of changing established heroes skin color to appease political correctness, this is not word for word of what she said, but it is the summary of her nonsensical protection of white culture, sometimes people don't get. Established characters in the medium of comic books have been given decades upon decades to be part of mainstream media, mostly due to the color of the skin of the heroes and their creators. So much creativeness of Black comic writers has been lost over the decades upon decades due to good old racism. It's hard to trace or find original Black hero concepts, "Black Comic Book History: Bonus: Superheroes who Protect Africa (Thrilling History Series 1)" by Demetrius Sherman is that supplemental and historical book for collectors and those who don't understand the value of being established.
If you want to go beyond Black Panther, Demetrius Sherman is your professor as he does his research blowing my mind on who wrote "The Three Musketeers, summarizing great Black writers during tough times to be a Black writer. For me, as a "writer" I am also thinking about the limits, there are no limits to being creative and getting your stuff out there, the gatekeepers are losing their grip, but it is essential to study the past perhaps bring some of these concepts to our current time. "Black Comic Book History" will be a favorite reference for me and I hope this will inspire more writers out there.
Enjoyable and vital to history for comic book readers and those who like the unexpected.
