3 Hour Dad by Adam T Hourlution
4 Stars: Unknown Miracle
Setting up my TBR list for reviews is like a designing a playlist, long song than a short song, so after a long read (The Cretin Gene), my next read was "3 Hour Dad", by Adam T Hourlution, a humorous and shocking quick and fun read. Adam gets a call about his girlfriend being rushed to the hospital for appendicitis, unknown to his girlfriend and Adam they are about to become parents, a shocking discovery and jointly entirely unprepared.
You may ask yourself how do you now know you are pregnant? I am going to attest that this happens more than we know; personally, I know two incidents that this occurred. Adam unfolds for us a world turned on a dime, as panic and fear consumed him, I imagine his plans of yesterday thrown in a void, hitting an array of emotions all in short moments because there is no time to wallow. A traumatic experience for everyone involved, the writer conveys realism in his writing at times being an uplifting narrative storyteller. "3 Hour Dad" has necessary graphic details that may want you to reconsider having children or preparing for what's to come.
An excellent four-star read about the miracle of life and how a writer can show his personality by being funny and grounded in an odd surprise of the last minute discovery of becoming a dad!
